Pixie – Adopted!!!

Meet sweet little Pixie and her name says it all. Don’t let the start of her Golden Years dismay you — she is the most charming little girl, about 8 years old we think, very coquettish, very, very sweet, and she has a gait in her walk like a ballet dancer. Pixie and her partner, Morgan, were left abandoned by their owners and a kindly neighbor took them and nourished them for about three weeks before contacting us. They were left in a yard with only a vinyl crate for protection against the cold, no food and no water and only a dirt yard to call their home for a time. Upon our rescue, Pixie had extensive dental work done and managed to save some of her teeth, has been given all her shots, is heart worm negative and also micro-chipped. She readily uses a dog door and sleeps in a doggie bed all night long. She weighs 9.8 lbs., and is a short hair, although it appears there could have been long hair in her lineage as the back of her neck has longer hair that is wavy. She is basically red in her coloration, but could border on having some wild boar in her coat. She is a tail wagger and one who will steal your heart. There is the possibility that Morgan could be her puppy, as his coloration is much darker than hers and has the same roughness to the back of his neck. Pixie and Morgan are quite bonded to each other, but probably could be successfully adopted separately. She is being fostered in Albuquerque and because of her age, her adoption fee would be $200.
