Ms. Zoe – ADOPTED!!!

Introducing Ms. Zoe, who just joined the NMDR after a good samaritan scooped her up off the streets of an industrial part of Albuquerque and brought her to the Eastside shelter. Veterinarians determined Zoe to have already been spayed and microchipped but her microchip had never been registered. She was given all of her necessary shots and some dental work, which left Zoe with just a few teeth. Zoe is estimated to be between 7 and 10 years old and is black and tan with generous gray highlights.

Zoe weights 12lbs, has a shiny soft coat, loves to give kisses to her humans and be petted, and is recovering well from her ordeal. She has not barked yet or played with toys but her appetite is good and she has exhibited a spunky, curious disposition. Zoe is in very good shape physically and jumps up on the couch to cuddle next to her foster mom although she is learning to use doggie steps, too. Zoe gets along well with other dogs but her response to cats and children is unknown. She does not seem to have a lot of experience walking on a leash but tolerates a leash well and responds to redirection. Zoe knows her potty is outside and she is learning to use a doggie door in addition to a human door. She travels well in a car. She has dry skin on her belly and rear leg joints that a little Corn Huskers Lotion should help but she has no chronic medical issues or need for daily medications. Zoe has a very sweet, mellow temperament and would be a great companion for a home with older humans.

Zoe is being fostered in Albuquerque and is ready to find her forever home. Her adoption fee is $200 and she will be at the NMDR Fall Adoption Event on Saturday, September 26th inside the Petco on San Mateo and Academy from 12pm-3pm.
