My name is Clarque (pronounced Clark), and I am a true mini black and tan lady about 14 years old, and recently lost the only home I ever knew. My owners got divorced, and no one was able to take care of us, so they called New Mexico Dachshund Rescue. I have been with my foster family a couple of months now, had my teeth cleaned, but only lost two because they were rotten, ticks pulled off, anal glands cleaned, and toenails trimmed.
I am very active, and quite the huntress. My foster-mom calls me a little pistol. I spend a lot of time in the yard digging and catching rodents, which my foster mom usually takes away so I don’t get sick from eating too many. I start out on a walk with the group, but soon find something to chase or dig for, so usually miss most of the walk. I was kept in crate in my old home, and most of the hair is rubbed off my tail, but it is growing back. My old home had a child, and he loved me and I like kids. I will go in and out of the doggie door, but need some supervision to make sure I go outside when I need to potty, and I usually have to go out once during the night.
I’ve been spayed, have all my shots and heartworm free. I am a busy girl and need a home that has something to keep me active, and I do love to destroy doggie toys. An evening cuddle after a full day is great. I weigh about 10 pounds. I’m being fostered in southern Colorado and my Adoption fee is $200.
