Mochi is an 8-year-old red, short-haired, male, Dachshund in need of a loving home. He is quite overweight due to hypothyroidism and possibly overeating. He came to rescue when his owner passed away. His coat was a mess and after a grooming, some baths, and some tea tree oil rubbing, he is much softer although his coat is thick. He’s like a teddy bear and so affectionate.

He has learned to use (and fit through) a doggy door. He is also using ramps outside to get up to the second level and outside of the doggie door. He loves to meet new people and has been fine with our two dogs as well as visiting dogs. No info on cats or children.

You’ll fall in love with this dog but will have to keep him on thyroid med and get his blood tested. His weight needs to be monitored and he will be able to have a dental when he gets down to 20 lbs. or less. He’s at 29 lbs. as of 11/5. He’s being fostered in Albuquerque and his adoption fee in $250.
