Fosters needed!!

NMDR Surrender Application

If you wish to surrender your dachshund, please complete our online surrender application. When we receive your application we will contact you to discuss the next steps. We wish we could respond personally to general questions about surrender, but we are an all-volunteer organization and are not equipped to provide immediate response.

Please provide as much detail as you can about your dachshund’s temperament and physical condition, as well as the circumstances that make surrender necessary. This will help us in making an informed decision about whether we can help your pet. We can often help pets with certain temperament issues, as well as pets who have certain physical conditions or are not up-to-date on their veterinary care.

If your dachshund has recently been diagnosed with intervertebral disk disease (IVDD), gone “down in the back”, or become partially paralyzed, we will probably not be able to accept your pet into rescue. Do not give up hope, but act quickly! With proper care some dogs can make a complete recovery over time, and without surgery. One of the best online resources for dogs with back problems is Dodgerslist (www.dodgerslist.com).

When filling out the form below, you will be asked to include two pictures of your dachshund: a front view and a standing side profile. While we wish we could help every dog our mission is to help find homes for dachshunds and sometimes dachshund mixes…and we want to make sure we can help your dog.

Please answer every question to the best of your ability. You will not be able to submit your application until every question is answered.
