Hi, I’m Gypsy, and I was found lost and alone and covered in burrs at a pump jack near Jal, New Mexico. I’m with my foster family now, and getting along great with all the other dogs in the house. I’m a 19-pound standard black-and-tan dachshund with maybe a mix of something else in my background. I’m gentle, love to play, happy to be in a safe place, and I’ll make anyone a loving pet. I get along fine with other dogs, love to go for walks, enjoy my toys (I like to rip the stuffing out of them), am house-trained and use the doggie door. I haven’t encountered any cats yet, but, being a dachshund and, therefore, a mighty hunter, I might chase one if I got the chance. Gypsy is being fostered in Roswell and her adoption fee is $200.

She is almost house broken and loves to watch TV. Candy is a beautiful young dog ready to give her owner years of happy companionship. Candy is being fostered in Albuquerque and her adoption fee is $350.

Tommy and Trotsky Need a New Loving Home *Courtesy Listing*
These sweet, long haired dachshunds need a new forever home, after their long time human companion recently passed away. Trotsky, (sitting up) is a youthful 11 year old. His “Dad”, Tommy, is 14. Since the photos, the dogs have been groomed, and are they will be current on their vaccinations (as of 3/4/13). These dogs would make someone great companions. They are sweet, gentle, and undemanding. They do enjoy short leash walks, sleeping on their dog beds….or perhaps your bed?….and would appreciate a home where they will receive the love and care they deserve. They are being fostered by a friend, but need a real home ASAP. If you are interested in adopting Tommy and Trotsky, please complete an online application. NMDR will be helping screen applicants for this pair, however, their adoption will be solely between the applicant and the lady currently fostering them. There is no adoption fee and they are currently located in the Santa Fe area.
Maggie is a very sweet, small (13 lbs.) black & tan smooth-coated dachshund. She will be 7 years old this July, and will be spayed a few days after this March 9th adoption event. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, very affectionate, rather quiet, and housebroken. Maggie had an unplanned pregnancy in 2009 (8 puppies), so her nipples are a bit prominent. Maggie is a recent owner surrender due to her human’s allergies. She is being fostered in Albuquerque and her adoption fee is $275.
