Roscoe

Meet Roscoe! This little man is the perfect solution to your blues. Roscoe, through no fault of his own, seems to have been moved around through a couple different owners prior to being surrendered to NMDR, and his origin story isn’t really known. Regardless of his many moves, he is perfectly house trained and knows exactly where to do his business outside. Roscoe is around 12 years old, but shows lots of energy to run around the house playing with soft toys and wanting to play with his foster siblings. He fits in very well with numerous other dogs, and has shown no signs of aggressive behavior. He LOVES to just be with his human, whoever he decides that to be. If you are in need of a shadow, Roscoe is here to serve you! He will follow his human wherever they need to go, and he’s always ready to check out the action.

Roscoe no longer has any teeth, and there is not much left to his jaw bones. But you definitely wouldn’t know it with the way he eats his food and asks for treats! Roscoe does require soft food due to his lack of teeth and jaw strength. Roscoe also has a heart murmur, which requires him to take heart medicine daily, which is just mixed into his food. There was a point when Roscoe got himself into trouble by ingesting outdoor gravel, which required stomach surgery. Since his recovery, he has not shown any attempt at eating any more gravel or rocks. Since he has shown this behavior in the past, it is recommended he be either fully supervised or wear his basket muzzle when he is outside.

Roscoe appears to be a long haired dachshund, but he has been groomed short for the time being. He weighs around 14 lbs, is up to date on all his vaccinations and is neutered. Roscoe may be the perfect answer to someone who is home all day, or will take him with them when out and about. He is well behaved, delightful and loves to snuggle with his human. He is being fostered in Albuquerque and his adoption fee is
$525.
