Hi everyone, my name is Andy, and I am ready to be your next best friend forever! My foster family thinks I may be a mix of dachshund and something else, and maybe I am because I’m sweeter than most dachshunds! The shelter vet thinks I’m 6-12 months old, and I weigh about 21 lbs. Since dachshunds are almost as big as they’re going to get by about 6 months, it’s probably safe to say that I’ll be standard dachshund size. I was found as a stray, and boy, am I glad to be in my foster home, now. I’m definitely still a bit of a puppy, so I am learning a ton of new things from my foster family, human and canine.

 

I love to play tug and fetch with all different types of toys, eating sticks, and I just LOVE to cuddle up on the couch with a family member. I have a bunch of foster siblings of different sizes and I seem to like playing with the ones that are my size or smaller right now. The biggest sibling is still too loud and I just can’t be sure he really just wants to play with me or not.

I’m very smart and just enjoy being with a person all the time. I’m learning how to go to the bathroom outside every time, and I’m really getting the hang of it. I’ve already learned how to sit when told and I can walk well on a leash. I’m pretty quiet and I only bark when I’m playing with my foster siblings.

 

My foster family thinks I would do well in most homes, especially if I have a dog buddy who will play with me. I get along with all humans, to include children, and I want to meet all the different dogs I see pass by. I’m a young, active guy, so I can get into puppy trouble by chewing on things I shouldn’t if someone doesn’t help me stay active, but give me a chew toy or a stick and I’ll stay out of trouble.

I’m neutered, up to date on all my necessary vaccinations and just ready to find a forever home that is going to give me tons of love. I most certainly have an ocean of love to give, and I’m willing to share it with almost anyone! I’m being fostered in Albuquerque and my adoption fee is $625.
