Miss Daisy – ADOPTED!!!

Miss Daisy came to us as an owner surrender from the city shelter. She is a 7 year old red dachshund tweenie, probably a little bit overweight because she is so muscular. However, her waistline is noticeable and developing nicely. She does have graying on her face as she approaches middle aged. She is a most mellow dog, very, very loving and wants to be close to her human as much as possible. She is extremely cordial with her brothers that she lives with — living with as many as four males, but it doesn’t phase her one bit to be the only female. When she first arrived into our foster care, her tail was squarely down between her hind legs and remained that way for just a few days. However, she decided living with her foster mom and having the company of all the boys in the house, it wasn’t so bad after all. She prances around now wagging that tail and holding it high and is as happy as a lark — no need to be scared or upset anymore from being taken from her original setting. Miss Daisy is up to date on her shots, is microchipped and heartworm negative. She does need dental work and will have that taken care of next week, along with having her toenails done. She is a little touchy about the dry food she eats, probably just not liking the taste of what is served, as it seems she doesn’t have a got of problems with her teeth. She is also living with a cat — so far so good on that count. I’m sure she would even enjoy being driven around town, just like another Miss Daisy most of us would know about. Daisy very readily learned to use a doggie door to the outside, and has also figured out that if she wanted up on her human’s bed, she had to learn to use the doggie steps altho she tries to con her mom into lifting her up. And she does like to sleep right next to her human during the nite. Miss Daisy is in Albuquerque and her fee would be $275 for this wonderful, and very captive little gal.
