New Mexico Dachshund Rescue has been in operation since 1999, and we have helped hundreds of families find their perfect match. Because we only focus on the Dachshund breed, we have gained tremendous experience over the years on how to find the best match between dogs up for adoption and potential adopters. Just like people, each dog in our care has its own unique personality, with both good and sometimes bad character traits. Since most of our dogs are in foster homes, we gain valuable insight into each dog’s personality. This is very helpful when it comes time to place a dog or help an adoptee select a dog. We strive to make each adoption home a forever home!
Our organization is made up strictly of volunteers and we are a non-profit 501(c)3 group. As such, we must rely on the generous hearts of humans to help us help the Dachshunds in need. Our goal is to save and re-home as many needy Dachshunds as we possibly can.
