Daisy and Harvey – ADOPTED!!!

Daisy and Harvey are a bonded pair who need to be adopted together. They were surrendered by
their owners due to a change in the family’s ability to keep them. The family has had each dog
since they were puppies. Daisy and Harvey are extremely sweet dogs who are great companions
to each other and to people. They take direction well, know basic commands, and get along with
other dogs.
Harvey is an 11-year-old black and tan male tweenie who weighs about 13lbs. He is neutered,
microchipped, is up to date on his shots, is heartworm negative, is potty trained, and knows how
to use a doggie door and doggie steps. Harvey walks on a leash very well and enjoys taking short
walks. He has been around children of all ages and gets along well with other dogs, but his
tolerance of cats is unknown. Harvey sleeps with Daisy in a crate but he also enjoys sleeping
under the covers with people. Harvey is an emotionally stable boy who wears his heart on his
paw and expresses his emotions with ease. He loves to cuddle and gives especially wonderful
hugs. He takes very good care of Daisy and provides her with constant comfort with kisses, hugs,
and grooming. He enjoys chew toys.

Daisy is a 7-year-old red female who is on the smaller size of a standard doxie weighing in at
about 16lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, is up to date on her shots, is heartworm negative, is
potty trained, and knows how to use a doggie door and doggie steps. Daisy is more overtly
sensitive than Harvey. She appears to be taking her surrender harder than Harvey and has some
insecurity/separation anxiety which manifests with vocalizations, jumping, and running around
upon her foster mom’s return home after being gone. Daisy gets overly excited when there is any
sign of a collar or leash and she is working on learning how to remain calmer when these items
are visible or coming her way. Daisy is leash trained but she does have a tendency to pull and she
is learning how not to do this. She really enjoys going for walks. Daisy has been around children
of all ages and gets along well with other dogs, but her tolerance of cats is unknown. Daisy
sleeps with Harvey in a crate but she also enjoys sleeping under the covers with people.

Daisy and Harvey need to be adopted by a loving family that can provide comfort, security, and
reassurance to them as they make their transition. They both are active, loving, kind, sensitive,
empathic, and fun. They are being fostered in Albuquerque and their adoption fee is TBD.
