Jake – ADOPTED!!!

Jake is an 18-month-old dark-brindle long-coated Dachshund mix, male, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and heartworm-negative. He weighs 23 lb.

Jake is a confident, affectionate, playful, happy, energetic, and active fellow with his whole life ahead of him. He adores all people and wants nothing more than to please you and have your complete attention and approval. He loves to play and is imaginative and creative with toys. At this time, he’s a tabula rasa with no formal training, but he is a very intelligent, highly responsive, eager-to-please dog, so he should be very quick to learn and easy to train.

He is very good with all other dogs and is said to be good with children. However, in his zeal to be noticed, he sometimes jumps up (we’ve been working on that!), so he might inadvertently knock over a small child.

Jake is said to be cat-friendly, but he does bark at and chase my cats out of the yard, so if he is expected to live with cats he will need training to that effect. Note also that he was surrendered by his rural owner because he and his comrades killed some chickens – so, he apparently has a prey drive. He has not been food aggressive and in my experience he has no other vices. He is being fostered in Mora and his fee is $200.
