Valentino (Tino for short) came to us as a stray in Las Cruces so we don’t have any back ground information for him. He is about 4 months old and has had his first round of puppy shots, round worm medication and he has been started on heart worm preventive medication. Tino is a male, black and tan, long smooth haired dachshund mix, possibly chihuahua (or corgi based on the shape of his ears). He weighs 8 lbs. Tino is due for his second shots on February 26, when he will also get his microchip and we will determine when he will be scheduled to be neutered.
Tino is a cute little guy who hasn’t had much training, so we are starting with basics… how to use the pet door, walking on a leash, playing with his foster siblings, and basic commands like sit, stay, come, etc. He is pretty timid at this time, the shelter was very crowded and noisy so we are helping him to adjust to being part of the family. He does well traveling in wire travel carrier, and he is being trained to find comfort in a fiber glass travel carrier. On his first night of foster care, he ended up sleeping with his foster mom.
Valentino is a cuddly young pup who is learning to play with our doxies and should be ready for his forever home shortly. He is being fostered in southern New Mexico. His adoption fee is $300.
