Hello, everyone out there in Dachshund land. My name is Arlo and I am a gorgeous black and tan short hair doxie. I have the classic dachshund head and long sturdy ears and I weigh in at about 16 pounds which makes me a tween. At 3 years old, I’m full of youthful exuberance, but I know my name and will come when called. Because of health issues with my elderly owner, who is moving into a facility where dogs are not allowed, I was surrendered to NMDR.
My foster mom says I’m neutered, have all my shots, am micro-chipped and in fine health (which I tend to agree with!). I’m in the process of learning the doggie door, but I will sit by the door to ask to go out if one is paying attention. Riding in the car is something I love to do and will gladly bound into yours if you ask me to.
I love the big bed, sleeping with my person and I can be quite the snuggle-bug under the covers. I’m very intelligent and respond well to obedience training, which needs to be continued in my forever home. Always ready to go for a walk, especially a long one, and then watching some football on television. Food aggression is not a problem with me and I eat dry kibble–free choice. I’ve been told I’m good with people and other dogs, but I’m not sure about those other furry things called cats, I haven’t been around one.
Personally I think I’m real sweetheart, but I do need to have interaction with humans and lots of exercise. Can that be YOU?
I’m being fostered in southern Colorado, and my adoption fee is $400.
