No, I am not from the Munsters, but my foster Mom thought it was cute to call me that since I am part Pug in the face and tail, but my heart is all Dachshund!  I really don’t know my name, since my previous owners for the one year of my life just dumped all twelve pounds of me at the shelter.

The good folks at the shelter took one look at my lovely long body and black and tan markings and thankfully called New Mexico Dachshund Rescue–yea!  Since then, I have come to live with some other dogs that look pretty much like me, have had some shots, microchipping and “tutoring”.  I do like being in the house, and have learned the doggie door to go outside for business. 

Being a pup, I have a lot of energy and like to go for long walks, and play in the yard.  If other dogs will play with me, that is even better.  Chewing bones is great, and I carry shoes around but don’t chew them – yet.  I love my foster-Mom, but since I had some trauma with men in my previous life, I am still hesitant around my foster-Dad.

  Sleeping on the big bed is great, and I have learned that being under the covers is quite nice. Now that football is over, we have to watch other things on television, and that’s fine with me, as long as I can snuggle on the couch. It is fun to live here with my foster-people, but I am hoping to get my own forever family, who will be patient and kind and tell me I am their beloved dog for life.

I am living in southern Colorado, and they tell me my adoption fee, which is well worth it, is $300.
