Pepper is a 4 1/2 year old black and tan, short haired, dachshund mix neutered male. Pepper is about the size of a standard dachshund who weighs in about 21 lbs. He comes to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He has been vet checked and appears to be in good condition. He is current on all of his shots and has tested as heart worm negative.
After a few days in his new foster home he is adjusting well. He uses the pet door and appears to be fully house broken. He gets along well with his foster brothers and sister, but is still trying to find his place in the pack… Pepper is somewhat timid. He rides well in the car, both in a harness and in a wire kennel. So far, he has not shown any interest in being in a fiberglass kennel, and prefers to sleep with his foster parent. He walks well on a leash both alone with his “dad” and in a group with his three foster siblings. Pepper loves being outside in the sun, and spends a lot of time checking out his environment. He has been very helpful feeding our chickens and collecting eggs showing no aggression to these two legged animals. He knows that we have a cat in the house, but so far has shown no interest in meeting her thus far.
Pepper is being fostered in Southern New Mexico. He is ready for his forever home. His adoption fee is $275.
