Fosters needed!!

Joey – ADOPTED!!!

I am a classic doxie: elongated head and narrow muzzle, long, muscular body and deep chest. My smooth red coat is velvety soft, and my ears, those wonderful ears everyone can hear shake in the morning.  Even though I’ve been eating, I’m so active that I am just all bone, muscle and skin—no fat, which I probably could use, at least a little.  I weigh only 11 pounds, and should probably weigh around 16-18 pounds. My foster-mom says I am a diamond in the rough, and will be AKC gorgeous when I gain some weight.  If someone would just give me more people food, but they won’t (and shouldn’t).

I am two years old, well-housebroken, understand doggie doors and human beds with comforters.  I get along fine with other dogs, although not everyone always wants to play as much as I do.  I have all my shots, a micro-chip, my teeth are great, and I recently lost my boy-dog parts, which will probably slow me down a bit. I was picked up as a stray, as I do love to run, and probably got lost. No one has been mean to me, and I am happy to greet any new person.  I truly hate being left in a kennel, and have some separation anxiety when my foster-mother leaves me.  Jumping is my specialty! I can clear a three-foot solid fence with ease, so my forever home has to have taller fences.  Jumping is also handy for snatching food from people’s hands when they least suspect it (or counter tops).

I love my foster home, but am intent on having my own dedicated human that will love and play fetch with me, and maybe take me to the dog park and on long walks. I am being fostered in Southern Colorado, but can travel to New Mexico most anytime.  Adoption fee for me is $300 – you won’t regret it!
