This little sweetheart is named Winnie Poo, with an emphasis on the word “sweet” and that she will steal your “heart” away.   Winnie is an 11 year old matronly little gal, who will have her next birthday in very early November.   Don’t let her age fool you – she is very quick to run out the door and see what all the fuss is about that her foster siblings are investigating.   She likes to do her share of barking, but that is because she learned to do that at her new foster home as she is now hearing noises from the neighborhood that she didn’t have before as she was living in a secluded gated community.  However, upon voice command, she will immediately stop – this is mostly a habit she has picked up from her foster pals.   Winnie was brought to NMDR as an owner surrender.  She had been in the family since she was a young dog, and her last master died two years ago.  That man’s spouse, age 93, was trying to take care of Winnie as best as the lady could, until it got to the point where it was necessary that Winnie be placed with us.  Other family members could not take her either.   She was a bit overweight when she arrived because she had been fed a very unnatural diet of table scraps and snacks, and she is learning that no amount of begging with her pleading mascara lined eyes will not get her what she hopes.   She weighed over 16 lbs. last December, and is now down to 13.8, but please bear in mind, she does have some matronly sagging to the skin because of her horrible diet conditions and not much exercise.  She needs someone who would be willing to do a lot of walking with her.   She just recently went thru and came thru like a solid trooper having dental work done, wherein she lost six teeth (not bad for her age and poor diet), but she also had cysts removed.   If you look closely at photos of her face area, she had a black looking  “skin tag” under her right eye and a large black “bubble” removed from her left front leg, as well as another fatty cyst on her back hip. They have been removed.   All have been diagnosed as being benign.  She is fully housebroken, up to date on all her shots (3 year version), spayed and heartworm free.   She is also microchipped.   So she will come to you as a completed package, and she really is a very lovely older lady.   You don’t even know she’s around until she notices you are eating something that maybe she would get a bite of.   Winnie is being fostered in Albuquerque and her fee would be $200 – a bundle of joy and love.   Please consider this older little gal.
