Fosters needed!!

Violet – I’ve been ADOPTED!!!

My name is Violet and I was born in May of 2021. My early experience was shaped by COVID and I was traumatized and experienced isolation and lack of attention, which has left me pretty reactive. I was “backwards” potty trained when my foster Mom took me. I thought the kennel and carpeted parts of the house were where I should “go”.  Now with a doggie door  and three other dachshunds I have learned to go outside.

I love playing with the other little dogs and have learned to walk nicely on a leash. Can we say a total sweetie… with occasional lapses into my scared behaviors.  I am still cautious of new people and don’t like big dogs..being all of nine pounds.

I need a forever home where I can continue to calm down and feel safe. My foster Mom thinks I need another dog because I am a pup; energetic and love to play with the dogs at my foster home. I am a typically stubborn dachshund and will need to continue learning socially appropriate behaviors, but so eager to please it’s impossible not to love me. I’m chipped, up to date on my shots, heartworm negative and have been “fixed”. I’m being fostered in Albuquerque and my fee is $250.
