Those ears! A lovely fawn colored spayed lady, around 8-ish, 18 pounds, and UTD on all her vaccinations. Coming into NMDR from southern NM as an owner-to-neighbor surrender, and her history is, therefore, a bit sketchy. Is head-shy, likely resulting from some abuse in her past. Needs some time to warm-up to new people. Clearly has something (or two somethings) other than doxie in her lineage that left her with no tail. Totally sociable with other little dogs, no aggression, even over food. She eats free-choice dry dog food, and did have a bit of a transition issue when she had to change to a different food and her house training slipped a bit. Has yet to learn the doggie-door at her foster home. Loves to snuggle with her foster-father, kiss his face, and is more responsive to his voice, although she is loving to her foster-mother, too. Probably not good with children. She desperately needs some consistent and patient love to bring out the wonderful little dog in that unique package. Buttercup’s adoption fee is $200 and is being fostered in southern Colorado.
