This is Duck! She is a petite 8 pounds, and has a sweet easygoing disposition. She gets along well with the other dachshunds in her foster home and loves nothing more than curling up on a lap for a snuggle and snooze. She’ll be available for adoption as soon as she’s in shape medically.

Ducky came to NMDR as a stray with some serious medical needs. She’s already had a hernia repair and been spayed. Her teeth are pretty bad and the vet said she would likely lose most of them and need a couple of oronasal fistulas sewn up. Unfortunately, when she was sedated for her dental last week, she had a complication and the dentist had to halt the procedure and wake her up. She’ll need a veterinary anesthesiologist present when they try again in March, which is much safer will cost at least $3,000.
