Brownie – ADOPTED!!

I would like to introduce you to Brownie.  He is 9 years old and will be 10 on July 3.  Brownie is a petite 13# and is black with brown feet and muzzle.  You can see just a little white around his muzzle as he ages.  You would not know that he is 9 with all the energy and fun he has.  Brownie loves to play outside.  On nice days, we spend the day in our backyard.

He loves other dogs and does well with them. He came from a home with big dogs and is now in our home with another mini dachshund. He does well with people too.  He fell in love with my husband immediately and follows him everywhere in the house and outside.  Our grandchildren came to visit today, and Brownie just loved them.  He comes right up to you for some pets.

I do separate the two dogs at feeding time, and he protects his food.  He eats ½ cup of kibble twice a day, but he wouldn’t refuse to eat an extra meal at lunch.

Brownie sleeps in a crate each night with about 3 big blankets and doesn’t make a noise until morning.  He climbs right in when it is bedtime. We keep the crate close by and he can go in it if he ever feels anxious.  He made a bed for himself on our couch and sleeps there when we are watching television.

He does bark when someone comes to the door but stops pretty quick.  Brownie is housetrained and goes in and out a dog door for his bathroom needs.

I take Brownie and Kip (owner dachshund) for a walk daily and he is leash trained and is a pro at walking and loves it so much.

Brownie is a loving, smart and adorable dog and warmed up to us on the first day.  Being 9 years old, we are so pleased by how well he has done in his new foster home.  We are waiting on his first veterinary visit for a check-up and then he will be ready for his forever home. He is being fostered in Las Cruces and the adoption fee will be $625.
